ELEMI OIL

Our organically crafted Elemi Essential Oil is steam distilled from the naturally-occurring pale yellow resin of the tall, tropical Canarium luzonicum trees growing wild in the rainforests of the Philippines. Canarium luzonicum grows mainly in Philippines where it has been used traditionally for bodily aches and skin conditions, but it is also found in South and Central America, Australia, Brazil, India, the Malay peninsula, and Moluccas. Our wonderful Elemi Essential Oil has a peppery, balsamic, lemony, spicy, warm aroma reminiscent of Frankincense Oil, with an exquisite drydown of fine woody-green, balsamic undertones.

When the lovely pale yellow leaves of the Elemi begin to sprout, the tree produces the exotic honey-like aromatic oleo-resin. Elemi oleoresin is contained mostly in resin channels on the inside of the bark, and is produced mainly during the rainy season. The botanical resin will solidify on contact with the air and the tree stops producing it when the last leaf falls. As an agent against decay and for the preservation of meats, Elemi resin was one of the aromatic materials also used by the Egyptians for embalming purposes and was used throughout the Arabic and Turkish worlds in ancient times. Occuring mostly in tropical and subtropical areas, Bambusa vulgaris is a perennial, woody, plant in the Bambusoideae, a subfamily of the grasses. The tall, straight tubes of Bamboo symbolize power, flexibility and strength as well as longevity and resistance. Bamboo is a natural, sustainable raw material with various benefits.

DOUGLAS FIR NEEDLE OIL

Our organically crafted Douglas Fir Essential Oil is steam distilled from the sustainably wildcrafted deep green needles and twigs of the Pseudotsuga menziesii evergreen tree growing wild in evergreen forests in the USA. The essential oil has a very intense yet soft, woody-balsamic, sweet coniferous aroma with a vibrant, robust character and great tenacity.

Douglas Fir trees are not a single species, as there are approximately 50 different species of Douglas Firs that thrive throughout the Northern Hemisphere. Towering in heights as great as 320 feet with diameters as large as 17 feet, they are second in size only to the two North American Sequoia (Redwood) genera. A timeless gem of natural origin, Amber is the fossilized resin from amber forests of Pinus succinifera in existence some 45 million years ago. When the resin is initially exuded, it is soft and tacky. Under anaerobic condition, a partial polymerisation of the molecular structure transforms the resin first into copal. Then over time (millions of years) through the evaporation of terpenes, copal is transformed into Amber. This Baltic Amber’s essence has been solubilized enabling its use in cosmetic preparations to provide formulators with the remarkable rejuvenating and anti-aging benefits associated with Amber.

ACAI BERRY EXTRACT

Acai Berry Extract is derived from the fruits (or berries) of Euterpe oleracea, popularly known as the Assai Palm or Acai Palm, a species of palm trees Arecaceae native to Brazil and other regions of South and Central America. It contains 0.05 – 0.2% of total polyphenols. Acai Fruit Extract is very useful for the formulation of cosmetic products designed to protect the integrity of skin and hair against oxidative processes. It is also useful to formulate cosmetic products with toning and general circulation stimulating activity and cosmetic products with firming and healing properties.

The Acai Palm bears small, dark purple berries produced in branched clusters of 500 to 900 fruits.
